Colonel (Dr) Amit Saksena (Retd) is a distinguished medical professional and compassionate leader with more than 35 years of service in the Indian Army and extensive experience in managing hospitals and healthcare systems. Trained at the prestigious Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune, he has combined clinical excellence with hospital administration expertise, making him a trusted authority in healthcare quality and patient safety. His career includes service in top military hospitals and a UN mission, where he consistently demonstrated his ability to blend medical expertise with strategic healthcare management.

He holds an MBBS from AFMC Pune, an MBA in Hospital & Health Systems Management from BITS Pilani, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Hospital & Health Management from IGNOU. His academic journey is further enriched by advanced certifications from globally renowned institutions such as Johns Hopkins University, Imperial College London, University of Houston, and Northeastern University, USA. He is also trained in Lean Six Sigma and Fire Safety Management, adding to his diverse skill set.

Colonel Saksena’s expertise spans healthcare accreditation (NABH, JCI), clinical audit and risk management, patient safety and experience enhancement, SOP development and compliance, and data-driven quality improvement. He has designed and facilitated numerous workshops, empowering healthcare professionals to adopt world-class standards. His contributions have been recognized with the Excellence in Teaching Award at the Officers Training School, Army Medical Corps and Institute of Paramedical Sciences, as well as the Chief of Army Staff Commendation.

He is an active member of leading professional bodies including the Indian Society for Quality in Healthcare (ISQua), the Consortium of Healthcare Organisations (CAHO), and the Association of Healthcare Professionals in India (AHPI). Beyond his many certifications and specialisations, Colonel Saksena remains deeply committed to advancing patient safety, healthcare quality, and organisational excellence.
